After a few years with TriHarder Productions the Capital City Biathlon is moving back to the previous production company now called FastScore Productions.
Run by Bill Stokes who is a USAT Certified Race Director and a regional Race Timer who has been operating in Central Illinois for 10 years. Bill Stokes, who is also a short distance triathlete, is familiar with all aspects of this event and promises to keep up the tradition of running a well-organized event.
Something For Everyone!
5K– If you are not ready to combine running and biking, then run in the Capital City 5K event with your friends doing the Biathlon.
Biathlon – If you are a confident runner and biker then set your sights on doing the Capital City Biathlon by running a 5K then hopping on your bike for 15 miles. There is nothing like the test your body goes through when you run hard then jump on your bike and ride hard for 15 miles.
Tag Team Biathlon – Find a friend or family member and team up to do the biathlon together! This doubles the fun and you get to experience the high energy that goes with a Biathlon.
The Biathlon & 5K – 3.1 mile out and back run course is on Irish Rd.
Both the run and bike course will be marked with directional arrow signs indicating turns or directions. Turn Arounds will be marked with Signs.
Runners will have a water stop that can be accessed two times during the run. Water will be at transition area too.
The run is followed by a 15-mile Bike ride. It will be 2 loops of a 7.5 mile route.
There is no water stop on the bike course, riders can fill their water bottle at transition with water.
